On Tuesday, July 7th, 2020, Victoria recorded a record high of Covid-19 transmissions with 191 new reported cases. Unlike states such as Tasmania or the ACT, the surge in cases highlights parts of Australia have a long way to go before the threat of the pandemic goes away.

In response to this spike, many have wondered about the possibility of spikes occurring in other states and territories. Despite the improvements in other states, a fear remains that easing restrictions will see more transitions.
