Blink and you might have missed it – but an American magazine has just reported what could be a huge reinforcement of America’s security relationship with Australia. Quoted in Foreign Policy Magazine, USAF General Herbert Carlisle says the US intends to send a range of combat aircraft to the Darwin base it shares with the RAAF. The move comes in response to the increased defence spending of several Asian states. But what might the expansion mean for Australia’s foreign outlook and security?
