Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas is calling on the United Nations to recognise the State of Palestine. The issue will go before the UN Security Council meeting this Friday in New York, as Abbas requests ‘Full Member State’ status from the UN. It’s a move the USA has already said they’ll veto. Samah Sabawi, Public Advocate for Australians for Palestine says this raises issues of representation for Palestinians.
