When you look at the top rating news and current affairs programs on Australian television, you aren’t seeing a reflection of today’s Australia.  New research on media diversity led by Professor Catharine Lumby at Macquarie University finds a 1950’s mentality when it comes to reporting News and Current Affairs.  The problem with that is that many cultural groups are being shut out.  Are quotas the answer?
