Representatives from 190 countries meet in Warsaw this week in the hope of advancing a new global climate agreement for 2015. Noticeably absent: the Australian government. A cabinet document outlining Australia’s stance for the Warsaw summit was leaked this morning, stating that Australia will not sign up to any new ‘contributions, taxes or charges’ on climate change, and criticising what it calls “socialism masquerading as environmentalism”.
