In response to the death of over 400 industrial workers in Bangladesh an international agreement has been made to prevent unethical safety practices. This agreement while met with enthusiasm is seeing major Aussie retail companies including Kmart and Big W opt out. As a result these companies face the threat of consumer and organisational boycott. But will a boycott prevent large scale disaster like this from happening or simply shift trade to other countries ill-equipped in handling the demands?
