Turnbull boasts Australia best in the world for border protection

Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull is in New York ahead of the United Nations Summit for Refugees and Migrants.

Speaking to the media, he praised Australia’s humanitarian refugee policy, despite the release of fresh reports from the Guardian today revealing more cases of abuse and self harm on the Nauru offshore detention centre.

Doctors and advocates are also concerned about how the health of refugees is treated offshore. Does Australia really have the best detention centres in the world?
