Mariem Hassan’s music is the music of a dispossessed people living in refugee camps in Algeria or under occupation in Western Sahara. She lives in exile in Spain and maintains a strong cultural presence for the Saharauis, travelling to festivals all over the world. She appeared at Womadelaide 2010.
