Avaaz.org is a global internet advocacy site. They’ve been collecting signatures demanding that the next G8 meeting in June take a serious line on climate change, and today as G8 environment ministers meet in Europe they’ll be delivering their petition to the German environment minister. David Madden is one of the founders of Avaaz and he says the fact that the minister has agreed to meet them shows that internet advocacy is being taken seriously by politicians as a gauge of public feeling on issues.
