The long-standing Chinese crackdown against Falun Gong has seen reports of organ harvesting, forced labour, and imprisonment against practitioners since it began in 1999. But now more than 190,000 individuals have filed criminal complaints against former president Jiang Zemin – the leader when the crackdown began – as recent changes to Chinese legislation make it easier for individuals to take legal action against government officials or departments they believe have committed an injustice.
