The 2020 NIMAS were streamed online on Saturday night in a display of perseverance by the arts sector despite COVID19 related setbacks.

Yolngu Rapper Baker Boy was the big winner of the night, coming away with three awards including the coveted Artist of the Year.

The night was a joyful celebration of both new talent, such as 21 year old Pitjantjatjara/Torres Strait Islander woman Miiesha and industry veterans like Archie Rose.

The Australian Council for the Arts is calling on Australians to support Indigenous music not only by streaming tracks online but attending online performances and events such as the NIMAs.
