It’s Two years and many millions of dollars since the intervention began a bipartisan and highly charged campaign to close the health gap between white and black Australia. Bad news today then with the release of Overcoming Disadvantage– a regular productivity commission report which measures 50 indicators of disadvantage between Indigenous and non-Indigenous Australians. The report’s verdict – the gap’s not closing – it’s widening Indigenous Affairs Minister Jenny Macklin released the report at today’s COAG meeting in Darwin.
