The Government is currently reviewing the national standards for poultry welfare which will include the production of cage eggs.
Meanwhile Egg Farmers of Australia has called for a 50-cent price hike on cartons in supermarkets to help its members battle the costs of the drought.
The RSPCA says many Australians just want to see the end of the line for cage eggs in any reform that is coming.
