The Wire's Kayla Dickeson spoke to John Bruni, director of SAGE International, about what the attempted coup means for Burundi's future.

From 1993 until 2005 Burundi suffered through a brutal civil war based on ethnic tensions between Hutu and Tutsi peoples, resulting in the deaths of 300,000 people including from ethnic cleansing. The civil war ended with the appointment of a new government led by current President Pierre Nkurunziza and a new constitution.
