Turmoil has been sparked within the Brazilian political system, as accusations of impeachment surround the country’s president, Dilma Rousseff. Furthermore, the Brazilian Democratic Movement Party have now left the ruling coalition. With a government fuelled by corruption, it is difficult to determine what’s actually happening in Brazil. We spoke to Doctor Fabricio Chagas Bastos of the Australian National University, who was able to provide an insider perspective on the deep levels of corruption with the country’s political system.
