Protesting has been an age-old method for the public to get their voice heard, and occasionally bring in new people to increase support for the movement. However, some recent demonstrations such as Greenpeace members trespassing on the Sydney Harbour Bridge or France’s ongoing yellow vest protests have turned violent or involved illegal acts.

How can some movements win the hearts and minds of the public and politicians when they are disruptive at best or dangerous at worst?
