Taser controversy in Canada does not deter use in Australia

An inquiry into the safety of Taser guns has been sparked after the death in Canada of Polish emigrant Robert Dziekanski, after police used the device to subdue him. However, this incident has not detered state police forces in Australia from trialling and introducing the weapon to officers, who claim they are a better alternative to firearms.
