The Indigenous median age of death is around 20 years less for Indigenous people than for non-Indigenous people in Australia.

According to a 2012 report into social inclusion, first peoples are also far less likely to trust their local doctor and hospital.

For Indigenous people impacted, this is just another example of systemic racism in action.
