Sydney is set to host a new national Indigenous arts and culture festival in November this year. Called Corroboree, the 11-day event, based around Sydney harbor, is expected to directly impact the state’s economy by $21 million over the first 3 years. The group organizing the festival is made up of predominantly indigenous staff from Bangarra Dance Theatre, Blackfella films, and other bodies.

The organizers say that this is a chance to celebrate and showcase to Australians and visitors, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander history and culture.
