The research study Megastroke had a team on over 5 continents and 520,000 participants providing genetic data in the largest study so far in the world. More importantly 22 new risk factors have been discovered and many of those already have drug research in hand.
This means that many people will be able to have their strokes prevented in the future as well as better treatment for stroke victims.
