STEM in Schools, the flagship CSIRO event for National Science Week in 2018, was held today around Australia.

The event saw STEM professionals and Federal parliamentarians visit around 350 schools across the country to discuss the importance of studying Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics subjects.

This year’s STEM in Schools event was focused on encouraging students to learn more about STEM careers, with an emphasis on demonstrating the range of exciting careers
that can come from pursuing STEM subjects.

Tim Brown spoke to Mary Mulcahy, Director of CSIRO’s Education and Outreach team, to learn more about today’s event and find out more about Australia’s STEM initiatives.
