But before she was an Olympic gold winner, Stephanie Rice was just one of a multitude of elite athletes in Australia who spent most of their days doing little else but train. With no time for jobs and money needed for equipment and tournaments overseas, where is the sponsorship money when it is most needed? That is, when elite athletes are training to get their gold medals. And what happens to those athletes, who in the end, never get a gold?
