The Turnbull Government’s is spending 6 billion dollars to buy out the NSW and Victorian government’s shares in the Snowy Hydro Company. Presumably to enable the Snowy 2.0 project to be fast tracked.
The New South Wales government has announced that the project is to receive critical infrastructure status.
There is a debate opening up about the claimed environmental benefits, and the possible damaging effects of infrastructure work in Kosciuszko National Park.
