For some new parents the addition of a baby to the family might not be all joy and laughter. According to a recent study some couples could need more support than others, with some even suggesting that prospective parents should be screened to see if they will need more help.

According to research that is being presented at the 47th Australian Psychological Society’s Annual Conference in Perth this week, screening expectant parents could help identify those who might need extra help once they bring their baby home. APS Psychologist Dr Jemima Petch, the Project Manager for the Study, believes the research can help support future parents.
