Indigenous playwright, author and artist Cathy Craigie has been awarded the prestigious New South Wales Aboriginal Arts fellowship for 2016.
Cathy Craigie a Gamilaroi and Anaiwon woman will undertake her fellowship in regional NSW researching the story of the Seven Sisters in collaboration with the local Gamilaroi community.
The Seven Sisters is a Dreamtime story and is one of the most widely known ancient tales among Indigenous Australians.
