Senate inquiry calls for end to indefinite detention of the disabled

A senate inquiry into the prisons of Australia has found around 100 people with disabilities are being detained without a formal trial.

The inquiry saw 32 recommendations put forward to ensure the proper screening of those with mental disabilities whilst also putting an end to mandatory detention.
