A recent study from the OECD has revealed a worrying increase in the number of Australians with a dependence on anti-depressants.

The statistic have raised concerns with health care professionals, who say an unnecessary reliance on anti-depressants could cause other health issues.

Experts say the over-prescription of anti-depressants, with no additional therapies, does not address the root cause of these mental health issues.
