Traditional coal fired energy giants will be out, and community-based renewable energy retailors in, if Northern Rivers Energy has its way. The non-for-profit company hopes to sell locally made renewable energy to residents of the region, and has received funding from the NSW government to commence a feasibility study, on the same day that Uralla, NSW, was announced as Australia’s first Zero Net Emissions Town.
