Each day we are reminded of the sacrifice diggers are making overseas in the name of our freedom. And each year, remembrance day holds a little bit more significance for the ones touched by the horrors of war. This year Matt Tewhatu attended the Remembrance day morning service in Kelvin Grove, Brisbane.

As Remembrance Day is commemorated around the world, Australia stood still at 11am on Friday the 11th to remember those who had fallen in conflict. At one of the many ceremonies held around the country, in Parer Square at the Queensland University of Technology, students and war veterans alike stopped… to remember. The square which is normally filled with hustling and bustling uni students was instead a scene of sorrow and emotion as former members of the armed forces reflected on their time in the military.
