Australia is reeling after a boat carrying up to 200 asylum seekers capsized north of Christmas Island. With 3 people confirmed dead and 90 feared dead or missing, the question has arisen: “What more could have been done ?” Tony Kevin, author of the controversial book SIEVX, is about to release his latest book called Reluctant Rescuers. It details the safety record of Australia’s border protection system safety when it comes to detecting and intercepting asylum-seeker boats. The Wire spoke to Mr Kevin about his new book and the latest tragedy off our shores.
