On International Day of the Girl, the focus is on creating opportunities for girls across the world to achieve their full potential.
It’s about breaking down stigma and basic restrictions that stop this from happening and turning it around.
This year’s theme is focused on achieving a Skilled GirlForce – getting girls educated and into employment.
Programs like The Smith Family’s Girls at the Centre are working towards these outcomes.
Plan International is also raising awareness through various programs, including Adelaide’s 7th International Day of the Girl breakfast is on Thursday 18 October.
