Queensland a step further in removing ‘gay panic’ defence

The Legal Affairs and Community Safety committee passed down their recommendation on Tuesday that reforms should be made to Criminal Code Section 304.

Reforming this law, dubbed the “Gay Panic” defence or “Homosexual Advance” defence, would mean further equality to LGBTIQ people and would also see a shift of blame from murder victims to their murderers.
