Aboriginal people and concerned community members have gathered in Adelaide to express their outrage at federal government budget cuts of $535 million to Indigenous programs. More worrying, they say, are suggestions from The Prime Ministers’ Chief Advisor on Indigenous Affairs, Warren Mundine, that the cuts don’t go far enough. Mundine has identified a further $600 million in cuts, but Aboriginal groups say they have not been consulted. They reject the need for any cuts to Aboriginal programs.
