Preventing overdose deaths: Safe injecting sites in Toronto

In a bid to reduce the number of deaths by drug overdose, the city of Toronto in Canada has voted to establish three safe injection sites by 2017.
The decision was taken following broad consultation with community members.
The sites add an important service to city’s already extensive harm reduction program.
