PNG landowners delay natural gas project

Papua New Guinea’s National Court has extended a restraining order to stop negotiations over the royalties from a natural gas project. Customary landowner groups sought the order, arguing the people chosen to represent them at the talks are not genuine landowners. Exxon are hoping to commercialise gas fields and want the issue resolved in the next couple of months.
