Petition demands an end to plans for encrpytion ‘backdoors’

Over 200 experts, NGOs and companies have called on governments to rule out a push for tech companies to weaken or provide ‘backdoor’ entrances to encrypted communications. Everyday communications such as using messaging services and making online transactions use encrypted software to keep the contents secret. World leaders like the UK’s David Cameron have been talking about requiring tech companies to build weaknesses into their services to allow security agencies access.
