For the first time in Australia census history, on August 7 most of us will be filling out the census online.

According to the Australian Bureau of Statistics, this will also be the first year that your name and address will be retained, in order to attain a ‘richer and more dynamic snapshot of Australia’ (ABS,2015) .

But these developments have some privacy advocates up in arms over the perceived potential for misuse.
