One third of migrant workers underpaid, study finds

Researchers estimate unpaid wages amount to more than $1 billion, with a third of foreign workers earning $12/hour or less – half of Australia’s minimum casual wage.

The study, from the University of Technology Sydney and University of New South Wales, found wage theft was worst in the hospitality and food-picking industries.
