While International Day of Older Persons should celebrate their contribution to our nation, today also marks the release of Australia’s standing on the Global AgeWatch Index. Australia ranks 13th out of 96 countries worldwide in providing quality of life and wellbeing for older people. Yet when it comes to income security we’re toward the bottom of the scale alongside countries such as Thailand, Ecuador and Bolivia.
