NSW Government commits to overhaul Mental Health Units

The horrific death of Miriam Merten, naked and alone, in Lismore Base Hospital, prompted a major policy review.

The Minister for Mental Health, Tanya Davies, has released the implementation plan, “Mental Health Safety and Quality in NSW”.

The government has committed  $20 million to improve the therapeutic environment in acute Mental Health Units.
