The National Indigenous Music Awards are coming up and the newly-announced finalists are getting ready to showcase the best Australian indigenous music has to offer. On the 11 August, Darwin will rock out to the second annual National Indigenous Music Awards. Indigenous musicians from around the country will converge on the top end at the Gardens Amphitheater in Darwin to celebrate not just the music: but their important contribution to Australian culture. The event aims to become a platform for Indigenous artists to be recognised across Australia and around the world. Indigenous music has contributed to close the gap between Australians thanks to the high music quality of their performers.
