Back in August 2004 the Ngarrindjeri people welcomed back the remains of 79 of their ancestors – their old people – who had been held for many years in the Museum of Victoria. Tomorrow morning the remains of 25 Ngarrindjeri old people will be put to rest in the first of a series of burials in two sites within the Coorong in South Australia. Tom Trevorrow, Chairperson for the Ngarrindjeri Heritage Committee spoke about what this will mean for his people and their land and waters.
