A new study by the Australian National University has found a decline in youth crime across NSW, with results showing social and digital media platforms have played a role in this reduction.  Young people are heavily engaged with social and digital forms of entertainment and the study has found that digital platforms such as Facebook and Netflix have reduced the amount of time young people spend ‘on the streets’.

What has been the basis of this study and how has social and digital media platforms led to reductions in youth crime across  NSW and changed the attitudes and behaviours of young people?
