A new legislation was passed by the House of Representatives yesterday. Any Australian citizen who fled to Syria or Iraq to participate in the fight alongside ISIS, will be prevented from re-entering the country for up to two years. This news comes as Peter Dutton claims that Australian’s are becoming too complacent when it comes to terrorism, and that we believe a situation like we see in Britain or Sri Lanka, won’t happen to us.

Professor at Deakin University and Chair in Islamic Global Politics, Greg Barton, spoke about how this new policy will be implemented, and the risk women and children can be in Australian society.
