The fight for equal rights for the LGBTIQ community has been ongoing and arduous, and has never been more prominently featured within the media than it has today.
However, there is little discussion about the types of discrimination faced by one major sector of the LGBTIQ community – the elderly.
Desmond Ford, project manager for the LGBTIQ People Ageing Well Project, a South Australian initiative developed by the Council of the Ageing and the SA Rainbow Advocacy Alliance, spoke to The Wire’s Lauren Connelly about the project and what it will mean for the widespread LGBTIQ community.
