National Day of Action against Healthy Welfare card

The proposed scheme includes buying groceries in big supermarkets, affecting also regional areas. 25,000 Australians are unemployed and are supported under the welfare system. (Image by Wikipedia)

The trials of the new card in Ceduna, SA, and the Federal government’s expansion of it have created concerns within grassroots organisations and affected unemployed Australians who depend on the welfare. The protest will be on the 21 November and it will raise awareness about the actual welfare system and how the new scheme will affect more vulnerable communities.
