Mumbai – a new kind of terror?
CNN bureau chief Rohit Chandavarkar reports from Mumbai where a third site has been targeted in the ongoing terror attack. He reports that an upmarket apartment building is currently the site of a gun battle and that special forces are arriving from Delhi and will probably have to storm all three places where terrorists have taken hostages. UniSA’s Associate Professor Robert Heath says the Deccan Mujahideen who have claimed responsibility for the attacks are a little known group and he suspects what is going on may be a more internal Mumbai gang fight with the police. Emergency doctor David Caldicott who has developed a course for emergency response to terror says the very different style of this attack is one few would have been prepared for.
