The mining industry hit the airwaves with a series of campaign ads today criticizing the government’s new mining industry tax. The miners say they already pay their fair share of tax- while the government’s figures say they’ve got it easy. Earlier today I spoke to John Quiggin, an economist and Australian Research Council Senior Research Fellow based at the University of Queensland, about why he supports the mining super profits tax.
