Over 40 per cent of Australians have experienced financial abuse, or know someone who has, according to a Commonwealth Bank of Australia survey released today.

Financial abuse includes hiding assets from victims, controlling their finances and taking on debt in their name,

Relationships Australia head Nick Tebbey said the numbers don’t surprise him.
