Recent media reports about a so-called ‘African Gang Crisis’ in Melbourne have caused a spike in racial discrimination in the African diaspora community.

The Victorian Equal Opportunity & Human Rights Commission has released figures showing a spike in racial discrimination in the last 12 months following the reporting in question.
